BAB Radiology's roots go back to the small private practice called Deer Hills Radiology established in 1962. Most of the radiology work involved only x-rays, mammography, fluoroscopy and CT. Today we have offices in Commack, Huntington, Amityville, Bay Shore, Hauppauge, and Shirley. We are offering every possible modality to our patients including PET-CT Imaging, Multi-Slice CT Scanning, Digital Mammography, Open and High Field MRI, MRA, Bone Denistometry, Ultrasound and Vascular Studies, Cardiac Stress Testing, and Nuclear Studies.
Over the next ten years Deer Hills Radiology became BAB Radiology and Dr. Paul Bonheim and Dr. Jeffrey Warhit, the two senior partners, were joined by their peers in private practice. During this decade, new physicians at BAB Radiology joined the Senior Partners Drs. Bonheim and Warhit and continued to broaden the scope of expertise and service to Suffollk County. The last 25 years have seen explosive change in the field of radiology, with significant technological advancements that allow more detailed and accurate study of the interior of the human body without surgery. PET-CT, Computed tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging capture very precise images which have propelled advancements in many medical fields, among them oncology and neurosurgery. BAB Radiology and its physicians remain on the forefront of new procedures and technology.
An independent radiology practice from the beginning, the medical staff today includes ten full time radiologists including the original partners. Our radiologists practice at each of the six BAB centers through out Suffolk County. Through our dedicated PACS system we can offer the sub-specialty training of any of our physicians regardless of the location that you chose to have your procedure performed at. Their range of expertise encompasses eleven subspecialties including, Neuroradiology and Muscoskeletal Imaging, offering area patients and health management clients convenient access to the latest and best in the field of outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic radiology.
